SDRC has established itself as a leader in defense wireless communications by inventing, implementing, and integrating complete systems suited for the most challenging military environments. SDRC has built areas of expertise encompassing advanced modems, innovative networking and systems solutions. With a history of excellence as Lead System Integrator (LSI) in defense wireless communications, SDRC's research and development builds on the company's successes and further enriches our LSI solutions.
SDRC has three major business areas:
- The Advanced Communications Research Group
- The Networking Research Group
- The Systems Development Group
Our technical staff is highly educated - ~70% are graduate-level engineers - and our support staff is dominated by MBAs. It's the opportunities for innovation, the chance to work with cutting edge technology and the quality of work that brings them to SDRC, and their skills are set to work solving your communications problems.
At its headquarters in San Diego, SDRC has over 30,000 square feet of offices and large laboratories. All facilities are cleared for classified work.

Quality Assurance
The goal of our quality control program is to deliver quality deliverables the first time, every time, a true cost savings approach. We will use a continuous improvement program that results in documented guides for all levels of performance. Our approach is simple: plan, execute, monitor, adjust, and deliver. The SDRC approach is focused on defined repeatable processes, which are key to achieving documented step functions resulting in high quality with cost reductions. They form the basis for a continuous quality improvement philosophy at SDRC.
SDRC will initially tailor our Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP) and defined repeatable processes into a contract-specific QA manual that will be provided to all subcontractors. Each Task Order will have a detailed quality requirements plan that has documented, clear procedures that are key to cost savings and to achieving best practice solutions. SDRC will monitor and maximize quality through a two-pronged approach. SDRC will prepare and maintain a Program Level Quality Assurance Plan that will provide primary guidance to our team. We will use SDRC-Defined Processes as a top-level requirement, and will provide those processes to our subcontractors via our VPN. We will encourage the use of our repeatable process approach, but allow proven subcontractor approaches for specific task orders. These approaches will be provided to our Program Manager for concurrence. If a smaller company does not have an adequate approach to QA, we will provide them with SDRC procedures.
